Romantic banquet overlooking Bosphorus

with one comment

Venue:
Ciragan Palace Kempinski.
It is a former Ottoman palace, is now a five-star hotel of the Kempinski Hotels chain. It is located on the European shore of the Bosporus between Beşiktaş and Ortaköy in Istanbul, Turkey.

Menu:
Dolma, stuffed vegetables cooked in olive oil.
Sea bass in papillotte, root vegetables, baby potato, mastic cream sauce, rokka leaves.
Selection of baklavas, served with clotted cream.
Coffee and tea.

I like dolma, among the tastiest dolma I have ever tried. The baklavas are too sweet for my taste buds.

What is dolma?
Wikipedia said that dolma is a family of stuffed vegetable dishes in the cuisines of the former Ottoman Empire and surrounding regions such as Iran and the Caucasus and Central and South Asia. Perhaps the best-known is the grape-leaf dolma, or sarma. Common vegetables to stuff include zucchini, eggplant, tomato and pepper. The stuffing may or may not include meat. Meat dolma are generally served warm, often with sauce; meatless ones are generally served cold, though meatless dolma are eaten both ways in Iran. Both are often eaten with yoghurt.

Darling and I are so grateful for this wonderful occasion, we say this in our before-sleep prayer. Lord, You love us so much.
